Obverse: The main motifs are inspired by the ruins of the Kingdom of Ugarit (an ancient city on the Syrian coast).
It depicts a vase with a hunting scene and a carved head of an Ugaritic prince (or king).
There may also be an illustration of the goddess Anat breastfeeding two princes.
Reverse:
It features a cuneiform tablet with the Ugaritic alphabet (one of the oldest known alphabets).
It also often features an image of a clay pitcher with deer or an elaborate gold basin found in the Temple of Baal in Ugarit.
